COLD WAR KIDS

Band Members: Matt Aveiro, Matt Maust, Jonnie Russell, Nathan Willett

From sunny California in the US of A come Cold War Kids. Hotly tipped for this year, they play powerful and artistic indie rock which has pricked up the ears of people over here and t'other side of the Pond. Their live shows are noted for being hectic, their name comes from a poem Maust wrote while in Eastern Europe once, and they support Norwich City after an appearance on 'Soccer AM'. But don't let that put you off them.

INFLUENCES
Bob Dylan, the Velvet Underground, Billie Holiday, according to their MySpace

THEY SAY
"Inspiration behind music…. Thinking about peoples everyday battles in life; trying to scoop up some of that and shape it in a way that can flip their ideas and or your own"
- Nathan Willett interview, Culture Bully, Oct 06

WE SAY
Bouncy blues indie rock and mad stage shows have made the Kids hot property. Recently released 'Robbers and Cowards' is regarded as an imaginative debut about dubious characters set to cool stompy music

SAMPLE LYRICS
"All mixed up in the wash / hot water bleeding our colors / now hang me up to dry / you wrung me out too too too many times" ('Hang Me Up To Dry')
